Santiago Alvarado
Under-Secretary General

Since his school days, debating has always captured his attention. When he discovered in high school that there was not only a platform for it but also something as well-organized and complex as SPMUN, he made it his goal not just to participate but to contribute to making it the best it could be. Since then, he has participated in every high school MUN he could, learning from each experience to improve this year’s MUN. He is thrilled to be part of this year's SPMUN and hopes it exceeds all expectations!

and

What are they?

In Model United Nations, points and motions are formal requests made by delegates to manage the flow of debate. **Points** are used to raise specific issues or ask for clarification, such as a Point of Order or Point of Information. **Motions** are proposals for procedural changes, like a Motion to Suspend the Meeting or a Motion for a Roll Call Vote, and they help guide how discussions and decision-making are conducted.
